Celebrity Hairstyles
Halle Berry - The Times BFI London Film Festival 10/24/2007
Halle Berry brings the ponytail into new heights and awareness as she dresses up this "jive" hairstyle. Whoa Halle, I think I see
a thread of silver on this side of the photo! I say! Does that look classy or what!
We can tell Ms. Berry has cinnamon slices over her dark hair; in fact her hair shaft is much lighter than the hair (most of us
have this) that is closer to her scalp. Pony tails can be carefree or neat as a pin. This pony is more on the lighthearted nature,
yet primed up to accommodate Halle's evening dress and earrings. Her bangs have been textured perfectly and at the ideal length,
giving her appearance a fresh look. If your heart leans toward the ponytail, then, it is time for you begin to be imaginative.
Start by washing, conditioning and apply a light styling gel to your hair. When it is dry, back brush your top just a small bit
and comb it all back on the top of your crown fastening with a hair band. Use a large hairpin or rattail comb to lift up your top
for a small pouf. Back brush the tail to bring the appearance of a nice bushy plume and smooth the top layer with the pin. Take
one strand and wrap around the band, tucking it underneath your hair and using a pin to secure. Fluff up your bangs and spray
with gloss as needed.
Gwen Stefani - Conde Nast Black Ball Concert 10/25/2007
Gwen Stefani comes from a family of seamstresses and she sometimes chooses to make her own costumes when she is making a video or
working on an album. She began her acting career in 2004 portraying Jean Harlow in The Aviator.
Her hair has headlines of heavy maintenance inscribed all over her cuticles! A platinum blonde head of hair is a very delicate
thing, especially when it is wet, because when your hair is wet it stretches half it's size. When it is dry, not only will it go
up in flames if you light a candle too closely to your hair, but, you must have a large amount of moisturizing lotions on hand
at all times. They use, leave in moisturizers, wash out moisturizers and styling gel moisturizers in generous amounts all of the
time! Anything that says: revitalizing moisture for color treated and permed hair, ingredients with aloe, corrects, restores and
restructures, frizz deactivators, panthenol, and helps damaged hair. As pretty as Ms. Stefani's hair is, it has been highly
processed chemically and damaged, and the secret is for it not to look that way. Therefore, this is where all the conditioners
make their entrance and stay in her life.
She is wearing long layers, with smooth rounded curls, that rollers can make. If you like this styling approach, begin to wash your
hair, condition and apply your styling gel. Make your far part on the top, as seen by the photo. Use your large smooth rollers and
roll on an angle where her bangs are falling. Roll the rest all going under. Brush out when completely dry; use your comb to style.
This is a very simple style. With practice, you will be a star too.
