Christina Ricci - The Palazzo Las Vegas Grand Opening 2008/01/17

Christina Ricci photo halfway along the neckline bob

Christina Ricci is starring with Reese Witherspoon in Penelope, a fantasy film.

Our celebrity is modeling the short Dutch boy bob that settles halfway along her neckline. The back of her hair is brought up in the typical bob style and the sides move into a longer length. Her bangs begin practically from the top of her head and all combed toward her face in the blunt fashion just touching the top of her eyebrows. Christina's hair color is an unusual light brown, with darker streaks blending throughout her style. This whole look gravitates toward a sleek smoothness. When you begin to blow dry your hair use generous portions of moisturizing gel to persuade your hair to bring out the smooth lines that are desired. Use your large flat or round brush, moving from under the hair, going out and tilting the hair a little bit under. Repeat this procedure all the way up into the crown and around the sides. Bring the brush under the bangs and move toward the face while blowing. When you are finished apply your smoothing serum on the shaft moving downward and spray your gloss.

There are other ways you can wear this hairstyle. Try brushing it back and fastening with combs or braid the sides and fasten into the center of your crown. You could also braid or twist the top part of the sides adding ribbons or beads and this would give you sort of a medieval look. With a little bit of creativity and some talent, you could also put this style in curls, upswings and fans. Variety is the spice of life.

Hilary Swank - The Palazzo Las Vegas Grand Opening 2008/01/17

photo of Hilary Swank wearing a turtleneck

Hilary Swank began her career in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Presently she appeared in PS, I Love You and worked with Gerald Butler.

Hilary has an irregular side part and looks to be allowing her hair to grow out into the popular bob haircut. In the meantime, she has those fun layers along the bottom of her hair making a series of options available when styling her hair.

One such playful way we could style her hair is to put some waves all over her head. Beginning with a clean head of hair, section the part off and begin to use medium sized rollers from the part, rolling them all under and on the side until you have the space of a vertical roller on the bottom and this is where you roll your rollers vertically toward your face. Complete this process on the other side. In the back, roll the hair all under with the exception of the last row on the bottom and again place your rollers vertically rolling your hair toward the sides. When dry, brush out and there will be lush waves for you to enjoy.

Another way this haircut could be styled is to use a hot spiraling iron all over the head beginning from the part. Allow your coils to lie where they fall. Today, there is no such term as the in between stage, because there are so many styles you can work with while you are waiting for it to grow out.
