October 2006
Seven more months and we still find a Sharon Stone with her long blonde tresses. The hair still
has the golden tones that are so flattering to her skin, and the long, smooth lines of the style are a perfect foil for the angles
and lines of her features. While now that a total of 21 months have come and gone since we last saw Sharon Stone with her gamine-short
locks, this photo leads me to believe that the length we see here is still largely due to extensions.
I can’t quite explain why I feel this way except to point to the segmented nature of the hair at
the ends of the lengths and something in the texture of the hair at the ends as opposed to the hair closer to the scalp area. It’s
still a remarkable job, and if it is indeed extensions, the fact that I cannot identify them as such readily is a true testament to
the skill of her stylist. I may be wrong, but I think that Ms. Stone has been enhancing the fullness of her own hair with that offered
by the extensions.
February 2007
Four months later we find another whole new look, and one that makes a dramatic departure for Sharon Stone. No
super short styles here, nor long straight locks. This is a mid-length layered cut styled for lots of wavy curls in a pin-up girl
style. We can see the line of demarcation showing a few months’ worth of new growth and the tapering fullness as the hair curls to
the ends indicating that this is most likely all Sharon’s natural hair.
I really like this style for her. While not one that I would choose for every occasion, it is a
flattering look. It is both glamourous and romantic, and truly makes her look like a movie star, as it harkens back to the images of
yesteryear and the styles of the classic Hollywood legends like Marilyn, Marlena, Katharine, Lauren, and Lana.
The big flaw here, in my opinion is the lip color. The red is bold and makes a statement, but it
takes away from the overall balance of the look. She would have been better served by a glossy, rosy pink color.
May 2007
These two photos taken three months later and a day apart from one another are deceptive. The
photos show that the love affair with added length is passing, and Sharon’s hair is moving back toward the shorter, choppier styling.
The cut in these photos consist of razor cut layering and a thankfully-fuller fringe area.
The main differences in the two photos are A) the way the hair is styled and B) the make-up and
lighting of the photos. The May 22nd photo shows Sharon with her hair styled to have flipped out ends and look playful and fun.
However, the lack of make-up and the harsh lighting really do her no favors in looking good. Her skin appears splotchy and her
wrinkles are held in hard relief. The May 23rd photo shows the same cut styled to lie straighter and more controlled, with
more-flattering lighting and neutral toned cosmetics.
